How an accident was the start of a beautiful business

Winter to me is snuggling in PJs with the heater on, homemade soup, red wine and long hot baths. Which brings me to my favourite ingredient to baths - A Mae Laine bath teabag. At first just the idea of a bath tea bag was novel, but the himalayan salts and essential oils are not only great for your skin but also for your senses and sense of calm. I couldn't be more of a fan of baths since I discovered the bath teabag. And for those unfortunate to get Gastro in the next few months, I cannot tell you how soothing these are when your body feels like it has taken ten rounds in a cement mixer.

I asked Kylie Wiblen Owner of Mae Laine Bath Tea bags 6 questions so we can all get to know her.........

What is your name and where do you come from?

Kylie Wiblen, Founder & Owner Mae Laine Bath Teabags, Hunter Valley, NSW

What did you do before owning your business?

Full Time Mum.

What made you decide to start your own business and/or how did it come about?

It all started from a little bathing mishap one night when I dropped my teabag in the bath and it started floating around me. I felt a creative spark within, like nothing I’d had before and with a little research, sourcing supplies and lots of trial and error getting my bath salts perfect our Mae Laine Bath Teabags were created. My business name is a combination of my daughters names Chloe Mae & Callie Laine so it’s close to the heart.

Why do people come to you for your product?

I think in our world of busy my customers are looking for a point of difference a little luxurious experience to relax and treat themselves or gift to someone special.

What are you working on at the moment?

We are working on new creative marketing thanks to my amazing win as part of a live pitch competition hosted by KOFM “Hunter’s Own Shark Tank” to Naomi Simson & Dr Glen Richards recently in Newcastle. Opportunity of a lifetime. I took so much away from this experience.

What do you do that helps you feel better when you’re unwell?

Sleep and rest, being pampered with all the little things that mean so much more when you feel unwell. Lets face it, no one feels like doing anything when we just want to stay in our pjs and recover.

Do you have any specials on offer at the moment?
